Survivors' Truths is a registered 501(c)3 Non-profit organization that aims to challenge assumptions and alter perspective on the challenges and strengths of marginalized communities. Currently underway, our projects with the people of post-war Liberia, as well as transgendered youth in Los Angeles are helping to shape a new understanding of these communities, their resilience and courage, and bring together all people through awareness and compassion. Our projects with these communities utilize different types of media to bring the stories to life. Through photography, video, sound, the internet, and social media, our hope is to reach out to the greater local and international communities to inspire courage, possibility, and social change.
Executive Director:
Our work is a direct result of the passion, dedication and commitment of our Executive Director, Dove Pressnall, who volunteers her time with Survivors' Truths and has seen her vision for this non-profit come to life. She hopes to continue to expand the organization to include more projects here in LA and abroad.
Volunteers:
Survivors' Truths also depends on an awesome all-volunteer Board of Directors for progress and support. Additionally, our team of interns provide learning - based volunteer work without which Survivors' Truths would not have the opportunity to expand and grow at the rate we are! There are currently internship opportunities available to students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as positions on our Board of Directors.
